Account & Data Deletion
Short version: You can delete your Svas account, every family member, and every report — yourself, in two taps, from the app. We honor it within 30 days. Encrypted backups roll off within 90 days. No follow-up required.
1. Delete your account from inside the app
This is the fastest and most reliable way:
- Open Svas on your phone.
- Go to the Settings tab.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Sign out.
- On the sign-out screen, tap Delete my account.
- Confirm — that's it. Your account is queued for deletion immediately.
2. Delete your account by email
If you've lost access to the app (forgot your password, phone broken, etc.) you can email us to request deletion:
- To: privacy@svas.app
- Subject: "Account deletion request"
- From: the same email address you used to sign up (so we can verify it's you)
- If you no longer have access to that email, please tell us your full name and approximate signup date — we may ask a couple of additional questions to confirm identity.
We will confirm receipt within 2 business days and complete deletion within 30 days, sending you a final confirmation email.
3. What gets deleted
- Your account — email, name, password hash, locale, timezone, quiet-hours window.
- Your family members — names, dates of birth, medical info, allergies, conditions, etc.
- All vital readings ever logged, including those synced from Health Connect or other devices.
- All uploaded reports — original images/PDFs and the OCR-extracted structured data.
- All medications and reminders.
- Your push notification token — your phone will stop receiving any pushes from us.
- All in-app notifications (your inbox).
- Active doctor-share links and emergency cards — these become 404s immediately.
4. What might be retained briefly (and why)
- Encrypted database backups — we keep rolling encrypted backups for 30–90 days for disaster recovery. Your data in these backups becomes unrecoverable once they expire. We do not restore from backups except in genuine disaster scenarios, and never in a way that brings deleted accounts back.
- Payment records — if you paid for Svas Plus, we must keep invoices and basic transaction records (your email, amount paid, date) for 7 years to comply with Indian tax law. These records do not include any health data.
- Aggregated, anonymous usage stats — for example "X users opened the app this week." These cannot be linked back to you and persist indefinitely.
- Security logs — IP addresses associated with login attempts are kept for 30 days for abuse prevention, then permanently deleted.
5. After deletion
You can sign up again at any time using the same email. We won't be able to restore your previous data — it's gone — but you can start a fresh family vault from scratch.
6. Deleting individual data without deleting your account
If you want to delete some data but keep your account:
- A family member: Family tab → tap the member → "Edit" → "Remove member." This deletes all data associated with that member (vitals, reports, reminders).
- A specific report: Open the report → tap the trash icon.
- A specific vital reading: Open the vital chart → long-press the reading → "Delete."
- Health Connect sync: Settings → Health Connect → revoke (or open the Health Connect app on your phone → Apps → Svas → revoke).
7. Questions
